Since its founding in 1983, the People’s Medical Society has championed the rights of medical consumers. Founded on the premise that the existing medical and health care system is too expensive, too impersonal and too unwilling to concentrate on preventive medicine and foster an equal partnership basis between consumer and physician, the People’s Medical Society is working toward creating an American health care system that is affordable, compassionate and centered around the needs of people.
